First stop in Costa Rica for us was Santa Rosa national park right after the border with the surf spot witches rock, where you can camp and enjoy a natural spa with tide pools, no people but endless views and animals like iguanas, deer, monkeys & colorful birds…when arriving i got stung by a scorpion, but it was not much worse than a bee and we were busy enjoying the place 🙂

Playa Santa Teresa, a busy surftown attracting people from all over the world, but still more pure and chilled than Tamarindo also called “Tamagringo” due to it’s high percentage of american expats & tourists. Playa Santa Teresa became our home base for a few months with great jobs as Yoga Teachers, very consistent waves & friendly, fun locals.

Close to Playa Santa Teresa and next to Mal Pais we found a beautiful beach with tide pools, no people and lots of palmtrees right on the beach – a perfect surrounding for a chilled day in nature. From your hammok you look into the sky and see swarms of pelicans flying by.

To get to the waterfall in Montezuma, you hike through a beautiful jungle with butterflies, exotic birds and monkeys. Once there, you can jump in the pool and climb behind the waterfall to see through the curtain of water and jump through it or jump from the top of the cliff if you have the balls 😉

Driving south we took a break in Isla Damas and jumped into a boat going through the mangroves, with monkeys surrounding us in the trees.

Cabo Matapolo on the Golfo Dulce was one of our favorite, peaceful places, like a lost paradise.

In Pavones we didn’t hit the right swell, but could see how amazing the wave would be when it’s on.

Reflecting, we for sure want to go back to Costa Rica, ride Pavones with the right swell and share some of these beautiful spots with others in one of our globeseekers retreats in the future.

Pura Vida Costa Rica!
